四十年代初期的大上海，日军侵华。以沉师傅为首的“常福马戏杂技团”正表演“空中飞人”之际，日军突然挥军南下，沉师傅只有解散马戏团，带着大女儿丁梅、二女儿丁兰、三女儿丁菊、大女婿即大徒弟及三个小孤儿徒弟义南、义西、义北南下广东，投靠亲友。。An artist (Lon Chaney Jr) is blinded by a jealous assistant/model. His fiance's father generously offers his eyes for a sight restoring operation. there's only one hitch. Chaney has to wait until after the man dies. Not surprisingly, when the benefactor dies a very premature death, suspicion falls on the artist.。
