一个偏远小城的市长，为一块在城郊的地皮做了份计划，自认为能够得到中央政府的批准，并以此作为其政治攀升的资本。他本来计划在那块地上建立一个附有大型停车场的文化运动中心。该计划似乎只有一个反对的声音，来自一个环保人士——学校的语文教师。不久市长爱上了一个女作家，她是典型的知识分子，而市长的女儿开始与那个语文教师的女儿结成好友，使得市长的生活起了波澜，也使他的计划似乎搁浅。。卷帘大将沙无名被贬下界，成为流沙河的摆渡人。某天，沙无名救下一名少女—阿净。花妖阿净打算借助沙无名的力量，渡化成仙。过程中二人却产生情愫。最终，沙无名前尘了却，走上取经之路。。When his sister's classmate, Leelaa, comes to spend the summer at his family home, a friendship is forged in few days and when our hero decides to take off on a road trip across the country, Leela is more than ready to join him.
