The film highlights the stories of people and their pets against the backdrop of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in 2022.。Carol（梅丽莎·麦克布莱德 Melissa McBride 饰）和Daryl（诺曼·瑞杜斯 Norman Reedus 饰）继续踏上寻找家园和所爱之人的旅程。当他们努力寻找回去的路时，道路却把他们带向更远的地方，带领他们穿越遥远的国度，在不断变化和陌生的环境中目睹行尸末日带来的各种影响。。与英版类同，美版每集皆有独立的案件及一位等待法庭判决的被告，而剧中会重新描述被告的背景及被指控什么案件，同时让观众思考他是否有罪。。
