故事发生在1977的约克郡，达思提拿着奖学金在当地的贵族学校上学，十八岁的生日后的一天，在学校毕业他的哥哥小艾迪将他在学校接回家。他因为从小爱读书看报，与大家格格不入，成了邻居们眼中的“书呆子”“怪胎”。此时的他正在等待牛津大学的入学通知书，并希望借此离开这里。偶然遇到的猎狗，让这个假期变得充实，也改变了达思提的处境......。A group of young offenders are delivered to an island for a week of character building exercises after one of their fellow inmates commits suicide.. It all goes horribly wrong when they realise that there′s someone else on the island who has a pack of dogs and a crossbow with which to hunt them down.。
