在东北一个中等工业城市中生活着这么一家有趣的人，老爸牛大爷退休前曾是劳模，退休后也不闲着，整天好管闲事；儿子牛小伟原先也在牛大爷的工厂里当工人，当时正值90年代国企改革，小伟成了下岗工人，下岗后的他不闲着，下海在自家的小区附近开起了小饭馆；女儿职中毕业了，一时还没找到工作。这么一家人在街里街坊闹了不少笑话，他们生活的点点滴滴成了人们茶余饭后津津乐道的趣闻。。Close to Me follows Jo Harding (Connie Nielsen), a woman who seems to have it all with a beautiful house in the country, a loving family and a devoted husband (Christopher Eccleston). The maker does not like to use this word and prefers to say "restored" but to all intents and purposes it is seeing the war in colour that makes it more gory and emotional.
