本片讲述了两个80后女孩为争取参加全军汇演名额而发生的故事。田奶奶的孙女李英在省城当模特，当听说二妹子民兵班有1个参加全军汇演的名额，她放弃现有工作，回到柳堡准备参加汇演选拔。马燕是土生土长的柳堡人，她也想参加全军汇演。因为只有1个名额，李英和马燕展开竞争，最后两人成绩都差不多。就在两人不分高低的时候，李英因为救一个火灾中的儿童，腿摔伤了。此时的马燕被李英的壮举感动，决定放弃参加汇演……。A film director gathers his favorite actresses, those he worked with and those he loved. He wants to make a film about women but he doesn’t reveal much: he observes them, takes cue, until his imaginary throw them into another era, in a past where the noise of the sewing machines fills a workplace handled and populated by women, where men have minor and marginal roles and cinema...。
